Virginia J. Sosenko, 101, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 15, 2023. Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 70+ years, John F. Sosenko and a beloved grandson, David James Sosenko.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jack D. and Kathy Sosenko, a daughter and son-in-law, Ginna and Roger Trendowski; beloved grandchildren Jackie Laman, Jody “Burger” and Chris Joyce, Bill Sosenko, Justin Sosenko, Jennifer and Jeff Layton, Carissa and Larry Sommers, Lindsay and Jamie Nataro; great grandchildren Nicole and Derek, Amanda and Dwain, Jenni and Brian, Dustin, Nate and Megan, Harly and Antonella, Halee, Alecia, Kiah, Charlotte, Sage, Finn, Leah, Lexi, and Lacey; beloved great great grandchildren Trinity, Isaiah, Elisha, Jaxson, McKenna, Addie, Jace, Isabella, Madison, Kingston, Eliana, Harper, Hazel, Hadlee, Liam, Jenson, Jonah, Dallas and two more little ones on the way. She is also survived by a very special niece, Diane Mannix, and nephew Don and Rita Drummer, a special “grandson” Kevin Spickerman, Maddie and family, and special cousins Tom and Annette Sosenko.
Virginia was a retired employee of Endicott Johnson and also of Allied Eastern. She was a long-time member of St. James Church. Virginia loved spending time with family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Johnson City, on Friday, October 20th at 10:30 a.m. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by J. F. Rice Funeral Home, 150 Main Street, Johnson City, NY. The family wishes to thank the staff (nurses, aides, and helpers) at Vestal Park and also Hospice.
