JOHNSON CITY - RoseMarie (Borush) Hinkey, 86, of Johnson City, New York passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E Hinkey, mother Mary Pranaitis, stepfather John Pranaitis, and long-time companion Rudy Stefko. She is survived by her son Matthew Hinkey (Tina) and daughter Lynne Hinkey (Matthew Drobnik). Grandchildren Kimberly Hinkey (Felipe Dacosta), Kristin Hinkey (Liam Feeney), Robert Hinkey (Morgan Major), and Michael Hinkey were the lights of her life and her greatest pride and joy. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and her best four-legged friend, Lola. RoseMarie was lovingly cared for in her home by her skilled, patient, and dedicated caregivers Melissa, Hunter, Stacee, Ronda, and Deborah. She spent her final weeks in the compassionate care of The Centers at St Camillus and Iroquois Nursing Home in Syracuse, New York. RoseMarie graduated from Johnson City High School (January 1954), where she was voted prettiest girl by her classmates and was known for her love of music and beautiful voice. She worked for many years as a legal secretary for Angelo P. Romas in Endicott, then later in the business office at Binghamton University, retiring in 2000. She was a long-time member of John Hus Presbyterian Church and later of Christ the King Lutheran Church, where her truly amazing singing brought much joy to all as a soloist and member of the church choirs. RoseMarie will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her love of her home, her family, all things chocolate, and especially for her famous chocolate chip cookies. She was an ardent supporter of animal rescue organizations and had an abiding love for all of God’s furred and feathered creatures. A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, December 22 at Riverhurst Cemetery.
