JOHNSON CITY - Robert Wargo, 83 of Johnson City, New York went to be with the Lord on September 5th, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Badera) Wargo and his parents, Andrew and Mary Wargo. He is survived by his loving children; Mary Casterline of Johnson City, NY, Deborah Kollar of Endwell, NY and Robert C. Wargo of Johnson City as well as his 4 grandchildren whom he cherished and loved; Rachel Casterline, Zachary, Alaina and Joshua Kollar. He is also survived by his brother Richard Wargo (Marie) of Johnson City and his sister Martha Hendrickson (Gene) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a retired employee of Lockheed Martin in Westover with over 35 years of service in drafting. He was a lifetime member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Johnson City and continued as a member of St. VincentDe Paul Blessed Sacrament Church in Vestal, NY. Bob was actively involved in both parishes giving countless hours of his time and talents. Bob was also actively involved in Boy Scouts his entire life, beginning as a scout himself. For over 35 years, he was an active member with BSA Troop 110 in Johnson City including Scoutmaster. In 2016, he was honored with The Distinguished Scoutmaster Emeritus Award. He also was a 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus 2953 in Johnson City. “Every unselfish act of love whispers God’s name”- Bob Goff Calling hours will be Monday, September 12th from 3-6 pm at JF Rice Funeral Home, 150 Main Street Johnson City. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday September 13th at 10:00 am at St Vincent De Paul Blessed Sacrament Church 465 Clubhouse Rd. Vestal, NY. The mass will also be livestreamed through the parish website, for those unable to attend. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Donations can be made in his name to St. Vincent De Paul Blessed Sacrament Church or to Boy Scouts of America, Baden Powell Council 2150 NYS Route 12, Binghamton, NY 13901.
