Richard “Dick” Gillette, 90, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 17 2021. He is predeceased by his parents, Zilpha and Charles Gillette, and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgianna Gillette, and a daughter, Jeanne Gillette. He was born in Deposit, NY, and lived most of his life in Johnson City. An Army veteran, he served in 82nd Airborne Division. He was a founding member and officer of the former Johnson Unit of the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad. He enjoyed his career as a sales representative for several wholesale hardware companies, and was a skilled craftsman and woodworker. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City following a private service for the family.
