Raymond L. Briggs, aged 91, bravely departed this world for the mysterious great beyond on the afternoon of April 27th, 2021. He is predeceased by his sister Marge and brother Bobby, his wife, Mary G. Briggs and daughter, Linda J. Rector. He is survived by his loyal brother William (Bill) Briggs, a son, Robert Briggs and daughter, Barbara Kretschmer; his granddaughters Denise Pound, Olivia Cuartero-Briggs, and Mary Kennelly; and great grandchildren Christopher and Alana Kennelly, and Kit and Quinn Dean. Ray had a lifetime fascination with machinery, was endowed with strikingly beautiful hands, and could repair or rebuild, better than new, anything with moving parts. Above all else, he was a dedicated family man, and when the opportunity arose, he left his beloved Triple Cities for a 25 year career with Kodak in Rochester, NY. He quickly worked his way up from security guard to Equipment Production Supervisor, where he was in his element figuring out better ways to assemble film processing machines! He would always say, however, that the highlight of his working days, were those few years between 1960 and 64 when he was proud to wear the uniform of a Johnson City policeman. As per Ray’s wishes, there will be no services, but if there should be some interest, in the not too distant future, a memorial service might be just the thing.
