ENDWELL - Nancy Lewis McSorley, 91, Endwell, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on 1/22/23. She was born in Scranton, PA to Harold James Lewis and Mary Brace Lewis. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 50 years, William J. McSorley, Jr., her granddaughter Claire McSorley, and herbrother Hal Lewis. She is survived by her children Pat Anders (David), Debbi McSorley-Mizera (Bill), Nancy McSorley-Funk (Ron), Bill McSorley (Katy), Terry McSorley (Michele), and Jennifer Dunphy (Terry). Nancy was also a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren: Kelsey, Torin, Ali (Eric), Ryan, Brady (Ashleigh), Megan (Chris), Molly (Kate), Marissa (Charlie), Ian, Colin, Erin, Caitlin, Morgan, Claire, Connor, Aidan, and Liam and 4 great grandchildren: Calandra, Christian, Sophie, and Emery. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dog-mom for whom family always came first. She was devoted to her husband of 50 years and carried his memory and love forward for her family. Her family was her life. Grandma/GG was adored by her many grandchildren and they treasured the time they were able to spend with her. She had numerous rescue dogs who were treated as her additional “children”. She was also an artistic and creative craftspersonand continually surprised her family by frequently rearranging her furniture and painting every wall in her home. Nancy enjoyed planting her flowers and tomatoes every spring. She loved going to Broadway shows, visiting New York City, the beach and walking on the boardwalk in Atlantic City and Wildwood. She also thoroughly enjoyed visiting the casinos and slot machines. Nancy also loved volunteering with senior citizens at Willow Point Nursing Home and Peace of Mind and also volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Nancy worked at Kent’s as a pharmacy assistant for many years, as well as a physical therapy aide at several area nursing homes. Visitation will be Friday, 1/27/23 at 9AM, with a service at 10AM at J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc. 150 Main St, Johnson City, NY. Burial immediately following at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY.
