BINGHAMTON - Joyce Hall, 86, of Binghamton and since July 2021 a resident of Willow Point Nursing Home passed away on September 13, 2022. Joyce was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Wayne Hall, and her siblings Beatrice Hobart, Betty Henkiel, and Kenneth David Gregory. Joyce is survived by two daughters Christine (Christopher) Miller and Gail Hall Evans. She was a special Grandma to her granddaughters Amanda (Shawn) Dean and Sarah Miller Briggs. Also survived by several great-grandchildren, Cash and Savannah Dean, Ailynn Miller, Brynn Lewis, Grayson and Evelyn Briggs and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City, New York where she served on the Board of Deacons and was a member of the church choir. She held many secretarial positions and finally retired from the Chenango Valley School District. She made long time friends at each place of employment, especially Mary Lou Osborne and Edna Merriam. Over the years she enjoyed square dancing, bowling, playing cards especially Pinochle with friends and family. She loved her family vacations at Renshaw Bay (near Lake Ontario), Cape May, New Jersey, and Desert Lake in Canada. At Snug Harbour Resort (Desert Lake) she especially enjoyed relaxing in the sun and fishing with Wayne in their boat. Joyce was an avid reader, enjoyed working daily crossword puzzles, and playing the piano. Her favorite football team was the New York Giants. In fact, she was such a fan that she even attended a game with her son-in-law, Christopher. Her home was always open to family and friends where she was the perfect hostess. She enjoyed cooking and made sure that during the holidays her family was welcome, especially her brother David. Joyce was fun-loving and a strong person which attributed to her recovery from serious health issues. The twinkle in her eye has been sorely missed from the disease of Alzheimer’s which she battled for many years. The family wishes to thank Rev. John Martinichio and Rev. Robert Peak for their guidance during this difficult time. A special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Willow Point and Vestal Nursing Homes for their care and compassion while she was a resident. The family will receive family and friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at 10:30 am with the church service immediately following at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Vestal Hills Memorial Park
