1959 - 2022 On Wednesday night, May 18, 2022, Laur Kendrick took her walk through the train and entered the last rail car on her journey. She passed quite unexpectedly, yet peacefully due to a heart condition. Laur was born February 7, 1959 in Johnson City, NY. She attended St. Stans School and then JC, graduating in 1977. She worked as a Teachers Assistant in the JC school system and than as a valued employee for Broome County Social Services in HEAP before she retired in 2019. Her new free time was used caring for her ill mom, spending precious time with her family and grandchildren and especially her flower gardens and many cats. Laurie is survived by her daughter Leia and her two children Kaylie and Deakon; and her son Ryan and his wife Jill. She is also survived by her siblings, Pat, Katherine and Ed and their spouses and nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn her are two best friends, Tina Reno and Cheri Gill States and the father of her children, Duane Kendrick and his family. She is also survived by her Godfather Ray Severance, Aunts and many cousins. Her cats are missing her too. She was predeceased by her father and mother Edward J. and Doris Bowers Lenga; and her fiance Chuck Hemenway. Many Aunts and Uncles are also awaiting her return,. A memorial service will be held June 1, 2022. If possible, anyone attending the memorial is requested to wear tie-dyed or bright colored clothing. The visiting hours are 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City, NY with services following at 10:30 a.m. in the church.
