Kathleen A. Ambra

June 21, 1947 ~ February 28, 2022 (age 74)


Kathy Ambra, lifelong resident of Johnson City, NY went to Heaven on Monday February 28, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Pete Hiza. She is survived by her sons Chris and Kevin Ambra, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Pam Hiza and Jim and Brenda Hiza as well as nieces Kelly(Matt) Taeschner, Liz (Matt) Lydecker, Emily Hiza, Abby Hiza, and great nieces and nephews, Kayla, Ryan, Maeve, and Rhys. She was a member of St. James Church, (and formerly Blessed Sacrament), the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and an active volunteer with CHOW of St. James Church. She retired from New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and had previously worked several jobs including several years for IBM. Kathy’s first love was to her family, to her sons who she devoted her life to loving, protecting, and always being there for. She believed in family first taking great pride and joy in the accomplishments and lives of her sons, brothers and sisters, and their families. She enjoyed family reunions, lunches with her cousins and her friends, crossword puzzles, and word games. Earlier in her life she was an active Committee member and involved parent with Boy Scout Troop 202 of Endicott, NY and with Scouting in the Baden-Powell Council. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. James Church (c/o St. James Church) or the Tuscarora Scout Reservation Sustainability Fund (c/o Baden-Powell Council 2150 NYS Route 12, Binghamton, NY 13901). Funeral Services will be at St. James Church Monday March 7, 2022 with the family receiving friends at 9:00 am and Funeral Services to be held at 10:00 am. Burial will be immediately after in Calvary Cemetery. She was the best mother in the world and her sons and her family will always miss her. The love between her and her children will go on forever.
