John Councilman

John Norman Councilman, born on September 18, 1950, in Johnson City, New York, and passed away on October 10, 2023, in Endicott. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mary Councilman, and sisters Gloria Councilman Wilson and Norma Councilman Orr. John is survived by his beloved son, Jonathan Harageones, half-brother William Councilman, and sister June Councilman Bowen of Maryland, along with numerous nieces and nephews. John was a graduate of Johnson City High School. His early years saw him achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, a testament to his unwavering commitment and determination. During the Vietnam War, John answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the Army National Guard. Throughout his life, John pursued a career path, working in various customer service and ground crew roles at airlines. His passion for technology led him to working for several companies working as a Software Engineer. John's enduring legacy will be remembered by those who knew him as a diligent worker, an enthusiastic sailor, and a cherished friend. A memorial visitation will be taking place from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday October 16, at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc. 150 Main Street, Johnson City, NY.
