Jane C. Johnson

Johnson, Jane Clark of Johnson City New York passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband Cal Johnson, her parents Alice and Ralph Clark, brother Robert (Kay) Clark, sister Pauline (Lynn) Spangenburg, and great-grandson Menico Yannuzzi. Jane is survived by her loving children David Johnson of Clay, NY and Karen (Michael) Yannuzzi of Binghamton, NY. Grandchildren David (Sherae) Johnson, Ashlee (Chris) Wittekind and Madeline Johnson; Gio (Amy) Yannuzzi, and Makenzi (Corey) Taylor. Great-grandchildren Callen and Jordyn Johnson, Maverick Wittekind, Adalia and Avianna Yannuzzi and Brooks Taylor; as well as nieces and nephews. Upon high school graduation Jane worked at NYSEG for 3 years before meeting the love of her life, Cal, and beginning her most honorable role as a homemaker. She could also be found at her home away from home, Cal’s Texaco. Jane was an active member at St. James Church where she volunteered in various activities. The Johnson home was always lively with poolside chicken barbecues, frozen strawberry daiquiris, and never without Texas sheet cake. Who could forget the Christmas in July pool parties which Santa would regularly attend with gifts for all. As the children grew older, Jane enjoyed working at Seton Catholic Central as the cafeteria cashier. She loved her daily visits with the students. Jane was talented in sewing, she made eleven bridesmaids dresses for her daughters wedding. To her grandkids she was Mimi. She lovingly knitted each of them sweaters, hats, blankets and mittens. Jane never missed a milestone or event for her children or grandchildren. She truly lived a life for others and her greatest joys came from the smiles and accomplishments of her family. “I will leave the world a better place, because of my children and their children. They are my most beautiful and treasured legacy. If I did nothing else, I did that. God Bless.” A funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday June 27th at the JF Rice Funeral Home 150 Main Street Johnson City New York. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 AM until the time of the service
