WINDSOR - Gordon Outman, 87, passed away at his home on July 30, 2021, surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Harold Outman, his sisters, Beverly Heath, Reva Norton, Shirley Bickford, and Sherry Outman, his brother, Arland Outman and his son-in-law, Sherm Merchant. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elaine, his children, Susan Merchant, Gail (Michael) Maloy, Scott (Barbara) Outman, and Timothy (Theresa) Outman, his brother, Theodore Outman, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was the owner of K&M Fastener until his retirement in 2005. Throughout his life he had many hobbies and interests. He passed his love of sports (skiing, tennis, archery, golf) onto his children. He liked competition, and whenever he took up a new sport or hobby he went “all-in”. Some of his interests included poker, Saratoga horse races, and John Deere tractors. Gordon was also a master woodworker, and the homes of his friends and family display many pieces of his fine hand-made furniture. Friends are invited to call on Friday, August 6 from 12-1pm at The J. F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc. 150 Main St, Johnson City NY. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice
