Lorraine E. Strope, 89, of Glen Aubrey formerly of Johnson City, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2017. She was predeceased by her husbands, Ralph Thompson and Paul Strope; brother, Curtis Heverly and sisters, Norma Lennon, Jean Brown, Florence Hotaling and Velma Valent; son-in-law, James Smeeton and her parents, Curtis and Grace (Smith) Heverly. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Sherry Smeeton; grandkids, Terrance McCoy and Paula (Andy) Stetson; great grandkids, Darren Ryan, Kacie Ellerson, Crissy McCoy, Adrian Stetson, Kelsey Stetson and Joann McCoy; great great grandkids, Zoie Underwood and James McCoy; brother, Russell Heverly; sister, Nancy Benjamin and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Lorraine lived life to the fullest. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Wednesday at 11AM with burial in Port Crane Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service. Donations in Lorraine’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association.
