Gerald A. Guido

May 21, 1964 ~ August 14, 2018 (age 54)

Gerald A. Guido 54, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on August 14, 2018 after an extended illness. He was the son of Anthony and Rose Guido of Vestal, NY. Gerald Grew up in Vestal and attended Vestal Schools. After high school he attended SUNY Cobleskill and later transferred into the Psychology program at Binghamton University which he attended part time while also working. He moved to the Florida Keys in 1992 and later to Tallahassee where he attended FSU. There he completed his degree requirements in Psychology and also completed other core course requirements in Computer technology. After graduating he was employed by FSU in the psychology lab. Department. However, he soon after moved to computer software development company where he finally found his niche. At his passing he was self-employed as a computer specialist/software developer.

Gerald was a very loving and sensitive person especially with mom and dad. He always looked forward to coming home for mom's cooking, spending family time at the Jersey shore and being able to spend time with family and friends during the Christmas holidays. He especially enjoyed the family gathering and the traditions on Christmas Eve. Gerald also enjoyed cooking. He would grow his own herbs and try out different ways to develop new tastes. He was also a World War II history buff. His light-hearted moments usually involved watching comedy such as Bugs Bunny, Southpark and others. His late-night favorites were John Stewart and Stephen Colbert. 

Besides his parents Gerald leaves his brother Matthew Guido (Vestal) and his niece Madison Guido (Elmira). He also leaves two aunts, Charlotte Guido (Whitesboro) and Frances Pedulla (Utica) as well as many cousins all from the Utica area. He also had several boyhood friends still in Binghamton/Vestal area. Special note is made of his two special longtime friends Paul Kominos (Ithaca) and Ken Foster (Nazareth, PA). 

A memorial Mass will be offered 10:00 AM Thursday August 30th, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Vestal New York. Arrangements are by J. F. Rice Funeral Home Inc. !50 Main Street, Johnson City, New York. 

At the family's request, no flowers to be sent.  Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, Utica, NY at a later date.
