Edward T. Bradley

Edward T. Bradley, 83, Town of Chenango, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Marguerite Bradley; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Walter Oldham; brother, Alexander Bradley; parents-in-law, Walter and Kathryn Giblin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Paul Giblin, Walter Giblin, Ward (Bette) Giblin, Robert (Helen) Giblin, Kenneth (Bonnie) Giblin, Burt Chamberlain, Grant Sullivan, Genevieve (Thomas) Sullivan, Kay (Giblin) Lynch; and grandson, Thomas Bradley. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maureen (Giblin) Bradley; seven children and their spouses, Major General Kevin (Karen) Bradley, Kathryn (Thomas) Sheredy, Jerome (Chrissy) Bradley, Bridget (Frank) Davis, Eileen Bradley, Monica Usiak, Margo (John) Faron; 11 grandchildren, Brendan, Brielle, Makenzie and Marlee Burr, Jessica Bradley, Elizabeth Crandall, Anna, Clare and William Davis, Eddie and Laura Faron; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth Bradley, Edna Sullivan, Ruth Chamberlain, Jack (Mary) Giblin, Raymond (Colleen) Giblin, Jim Lynch, Mary Ann Giblin and Hazel Giblin; Goddaughters, Elaine Sullivan, Ellen Robinson, Paula (Fiato) Steinberg and Suzanne Bradley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ed served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. Christopher's Church, St. Paul's Church, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Knights of Columbus Council 206, and Binghamton Elks Club 70. He was a retired mechanical contractor business owner and a master plumber with the Plumbers and Pipefitters UA Local 112 for 38 years. He enjoyed gathering at the Giblin farmhouse, spending summers at Quaker Lake and traveling anywhere at home and abroad with Maureen. He was proud of his Irish Catholic heritage and in 1997, was honored to be the Grand Marshal of the Binghamton St. Patrick's Day Parade. He will be remembered for his generosity, work ethic, sense of humor and love of family. For those that could catch them, his quick-witted one-liners will forever be remembered as an "Eddie-ism."  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Church, Binghamton on Friday at 10:30 a.m.  The family will receive friends at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City Thursday from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital. The family would like to thank the Pine Cottage staff at the NYS Veteran's Home for their compassionate care over the past 3 plus years. Arrangements are under the direction of Ed’s daughter, Monica Usiak.  Burial will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11AM at St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA.
