Sarah L. Major, 93, of Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2017. She was born on May 2, 1924. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Frank J. Major; parents, Richard and Lillian Rought; two sons-in-law, Tony Slezak and Jim Foley; two sisters and seven brothers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Francis and Martha Major; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce Slezak, Sarah Foley, Beverly and John Cusano, Carol and William Morais; eight grandchildren, Tony (Kim), John, Laura, Will (Grace), Eddie, Dawn, Jennifer (Lloyd) and Christopher; five great grandchildren, Tyler, Nicole, Matthew, Jordan and Julianna; several nieces, nephews, cousins and hairdressers, Colleen and Bob Hebbard of JC Hairstylists. Sarah was a member of Primitive Methodist Church, Johnson City. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Tuesday at 11AM with Rev. Sherman McElwain officiating. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service.
